CASEY BOGERD
Football Coach, Struthers High School

"As a former tight end at Youngstown State University and a current high school football coach I am in favor of any additional protection we can give our athletes. Since my playing days I have coached numerous football teams at both the middle and high school level. I am currently in my Fifth year as a varsity football coach. I coached a freshman level football team, and was a middle school coach for four years. The one constant at all of these levels of football is the importance of safety. A non intrusive device like the Shockstrip that can add to the protective properties of the helmet should be a mandatory piece of equipment. This is the case especially at the high school level and below where student athletes are still learning the proper techniques for blocking, tackling and using their equipment in the correct fashion. In today's game with the impetus on developing stronger, bigger, and faster athletes the collisions are only going to get more violent. It only makes sense for us as coaches and football officials to do our best to protect our players to the best of our ability and the Shockstrip can aid us in doing that. With this device, the design of the helmet is only enhanced. I know this, my six year old son has shown an interest in full contact football and when that time comes he will be wearing them."

EDDIE THOMAS
Football Coach, Youngstown East High School

"Throughout the many years of experience as a coach and a parent of the youth here in the Youngstown area, I have seen many hard hits on the field.

Shockstrip® have proven to be an extra measure as a coach for our players to reduce the impact to our players. As a coach, we look for equipment to use for the players, whereas Shockstrip has accomplished just that.

I recommend Shockstrips. They have proven to be well worth the investment for not only the team but as a parent."

PLEASE NOTE: 1) No helmet pad can prevent or eliminate the risk of concussions or other serious head injuries while playing sports; 2) Scientists have also not reached agreement on how the results of impact absorption tests relate to concussions; and 3) No conclusions about a reduction of risk or severity of concussive injury should be drawn from impact absorption tests.

ANDREW HAKE
Head Football Coach, Western Reserve High School

"My name is Andrew Hake. I am a 7th and 8th grade social studies teacher at Western Reserve Local Schools. I also serve as the head football coach of the high school football team. As a coach I am responsible for the student-athletes at all times. This is always a serious concern because of the natural contact that is involved with the sport. I am constantly trying to update our equipment and/or find the most recent information. We happened to have a great season this year. I do not believe our success was by chance. It was facilitated and fueled by our kid’s desire and commitment to our cause. As every coach realizes you cannot have great seasons without great players. I credit a lot of our success this year due to the fact that our kids stayed healthy for the most part. Much of that success is due to the Shockstrip® product.

We were so pleased with this product that we applied the shockstrip to every helmet of all our players throughout the playoffs. We eventually won our region this season and made it to the state semi-finals. I’m not a coach that believes in magic, voodoo, or spiritual dances in order to get an advantage over the competition. But I do believe in products that work.
